From Rock and Gem:Needles blue agate is a gem silica chalcedony that comes from the Blue Danube Mine near Lake Havasu. Its blue coloring comes from the copper minerals, where the agate has filled in the cracks of its rhyolitic host stone. This exceedingly rare parcel includes 3 slabs with a total weight of 123.7g. Two have excellent translucency. They are shown here wet and dry.
